It has been weeks since Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast. All of us have been affected emotionally, but many still continue to struggle on a day-to-day basis with clean-up and rebuilding their lives.
Our United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) has been on the job from Day 1 and they are asking for help in supplying flood buckets for the massive clean-up operation that is underway.
Please read the email from SCOTT MOORE below. Go to the link provided to see exactly what goes into the flood bucket, no more, no less. After you have assembled your flood buckets, bring them to Aldersgate and set them on the church platform stage.
Declaration Church is also gathering things to take in a totally separate operation. Please do not be confused where to place your flood buckets. Our operation will take the buckets to our Conference Mission Center in Conroe.
Thank you in advance for helping our fellow-Texans with much needed help!

Please remind all of your churches to NOT collect unsolicited donations such as water, food, and clothing. The best ways to help at this point are:
Monetary donations can be made directly to UMCOR Domestic Disaster Response, Advance #901670, at umcor.org.
Churches and individuals can assemble cleaning kits (flood buckets) and deliver them to the Mission Center in Conroe beginning Monday. A list of kit supplies can be found at www.umcor.org/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies/Relief-Supply-Kits/Cleaning.
If churches receive monetary donations for disaster relief, please send these to the conference treasurer’s office marked “Disaster Relief.” We will utilize the money accordingly.
These supplies enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a flood or hurricane.
